They say that a picture is worth a 1,000 words so I'll leave you to decide which ones apply to this photo of me w/brick along the Citi Field Fanwalk I co-own with Jules, Chris and Greg. At the time it seemed like such a good idea to get one: brand new ballpark, new beginning etc.

Its hard to believe that this photo was taken three seasons ago. Look at me. I genuinely seem happy here next to my brick. Who knew the fortunes of the Mets would've taken such a disastrous turn in such a short period of time: The Bailout, Madoff, poor play on the field, injuries to Beltran and Bay etc.

For crying out loud we're even opening the season on April Fool's Day! Ugh, why do I do this to myself every year?!

I guess since April is the month of my birth its my lot in life to be an April Fool (at least baseball wise). Thank God I have the Lakers.

Shirt of the Week (Mama's Boy Edition)

This post is dedicated to my Mom who has been in the Philippines the last 3 weeks and finally came home yesterday. She's wearing this shirt of Beamer that I had made for her birthday at the Mall. Apparently she wore it a lot while she was in the Motherland.

The timing of her return coincides with the devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami that slammed Tokyo this morning. And while my thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad my mom came home when she did.

Ok here goes, from here on out I'm going to try and pick a shirt each week that I come across that I would buy for myself, I think is funny/newsworthy/timely and or is on sale.

I came across this Charlie Sheen one on the NY brand Sophomore's website. For those of you ahem devoted followers you may recall that I have a few of their shirts and have posted them accordingly.

If this shirt wasn't $66 (although they claim it is Made in the USA) I'd probably buy it. But since that price point is silly and the fact that I can't bring myself to follow Charlie on twitter, I won't be adding to the collection.

However, since the picture they used it is from his cameo in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (one of my favorite movies of all time) definitely gives it some cred in my book.

I chose this Hunger Games shirt for today's entry because the message seems eerily appropriate to not only what's going on in the Middle East right now, but here in the U.S. as well.

Tron Legacy

As most of you probably know by now, I saw Tron Legacy this past Monday and I was blown away. And as you can see this was the shirt and hat I wore to the screening because y'all know how I like to represent!

In case you were wondering, I got the T-shirt from a friend of mine at Disney that also got me the passes for the screening. The Tron hat was purchased at the New Era Flagship store down in the village. And yes it does glow in the dark. You can get it here.

Rather than hammer you over the head of how awesome the movie was and how it should only be seen in IMAX 3D, here's Harry Knowles' review of the film which I totally agree with. Beware the spoilers.

J. Crew Meets Twilight

I got this shirt right before the Giants began their improbable run.

When I saw a bunch of guys wearing it at one of their first games of the playoffs, it was a no-brainer. They are graphic designers out there in the Bay Area and you can get the shirt here.

I was really happy with the overall quality of the shirt but was a little puzzled to see that the lettering on it was white instead of black. But to be honest having 3 colors really makes the shirt stand out if you ask me.

For those of you who don't know what "Big Time Timmy Jim" comes from:

And after winning 2 games this World Series including the clincher, to go with his 2 Cy Young Awards, that voicemail message couldn't be more appropriate.

According to ESPN's Jayson Stark, besides Timmy, there are only 2 other active pitchers that have had 3 straight years of 15+ wins and w/200+ K's. The other two? Roy Halladay and Johan Santana.

Bottom line: It was a MUST purchase since it was a great way to support my half-Filipino brother (the good half) without being a full on front runner since there's no Giants logo or reference to San Francisco.

Yesterday was one of those days that I thank God that I live and work in New York! And it also reaffirmed why I started this blog to begin with.

That's right, that's 2010 U.S. Open champion Rafael Nadal! And he just happened to be in front of my building in the middle of doing press before heading home to Spain.

It's hard to believe that not only did I get this close to take this picture, but Rafa actually shook my head right before that!

Before I knew it I was off to Niketown, where lo and behold they were giving away free Rafa shirts!

As if the day couldn't get better, in order to get that shirt I had to stick around for the Q&A, yeah twist my arm.

I couldn't believe John McEnroe was going to be the Q&A or how close I was!

I picked up this shirt after work last Friday during the grand opening. I love the understated attitude this shirt's image gives off which is befitting the City That Never Sleeps.

I've walked past this Japanese book store (Between 40th and 41st on 6th Avenue) many times over the years but for some reason I walked into it for the first time last week. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised what I found inside.

I wasn't able to pull the trigger on this shirt yet but it's only a matter of time. I guess they made this shirt when the new re-imagining of The Karate Kid starring Jaden Smith.

I haven't seen it yet but I've heard its actually pretty good so I guess at some point I'll see it when it comes on cable.

I love how Daniel makes a point to correct the announcer on how to properly pronounce his dojo's name. At that point who could you NOT root for the kid?

Nike World Basketball Festival

Some of you might recall that I tweeted about getting this T-shirt for free last week. What can I say? It certainly pays to wander around Midtown during your lunch hour haha.

The funny thing is that I'm constantly approached by strangers asking if I can speak Spanish. And sure enough, when the Nike rep handed me this shirt, it was only fitting.

As far as free T-shirts go, I couldn't have been happier with the quality of this one. Although it's not a Dri-Fit shirt, it is really soft and made of the same material that they used on the last few Manny Pacquiao Nike shirts.

This logo appears on the back of the shirt, right by the neckline.

Jules forwarded me this clip last week and we both agreed that LeBron should've put this out there instead of The Decision.

The use of Explosions in the Sky's wonderful "Your Hand in Mine" makes this even more haunting. Oh, what could've and should've been.

Lakers Banner Tee

With the countdown to the TeLeBron tomorrow night winding down, I decided to bust the Banner Tee out to remind everyone out there that no matter what happens, the Lakers are still the Champs.

As you can see, the Game Face is ready.

I was surprised at how quickly the shirt came after I ordered it on Nikestore.com. I literally got it the next day! Normally I like to go to Niketown or the NBA store when there's an NBA shirt I need in my life.

But the people at Niketown don't know their asses from their elbows most of the time, so I had to take matters in my own hands.

I was actually surprised at how much the "banners" take up of the shirt but I'm pleased with the quality and how the design was executed. For a better look at this shirt click here.

Seize The Day

I finally got around to busting out this Kobe T-shirt today and truth be told I just happened to throw it on before running out the door.

I bought this shirt at the Nike outlet out in Riverhead last Summer. Since it was marked down from its original price, plus an additional 20% off made the purchase a no brainer.

What I like about this shirt is that you wouldn't know that it was a Kobe shirt unless you knew his logo which is located right above the words "CARPE DIEM" on the cork.

I figured today would be a good day since it was the first day of the NBA free agency signing period. A lot is riding on this time and we'll all look back at it and see just how certain players (LeBron in particular) were able to alter not only their destinies, but the fortunes of the league and several cities as well.

If that weren't enough, Phil Jackson announced today that he would coach the Lakers one last time to defend the title and go out with one last Three-peat.

So in the end it was only fitting that I wore this shirt today.

I saw some guy wearing a knockoff version of this T-shirt a few weeks ago and thought to myself that if you're with Coco, you gotta be WITH Coco.

You have to represent with the original. And as you can see that's exactly what I did. Feel free to check out the site I'm With Coco and get ready for Big Red's return to the Late Night scene in style.

*Cool little detail on the shirt: On the inside of the shirt (by the collar) it says "You're With Coco."

A quick heads up, demand for these shirts is pretty high which is why it took a few weeks for the shirt to get me. Shout out to Lauren there for reassuring me that it was in fact on its way. As it turned out they were in the middle of moving so that was why it took longer than usual.

The fit is great and the quality of the print is stellar which reassured me that I did the right thing by going right to the source.

Freaky Friday

So I was board the other day and decided to check out how ridiculous it was down at the BAPE (aka A Bathing Ape) Pirate Shop. I went down to SoHo during lunch and this is what I saw.

The freaking line was just as bad as the line for the iPhone right up at the Apple Store on Prince St. In case you were wondering how out of hand it looked like, Freshness has a good write up on the day's shenanigans.

Well you know I had to go back after work right? Haha. Long story short I got there a little after 6 and the line wasn't nearly as bad. However since they were closing the store at 7 it didn't look good.

Needless to say the combination of people ahead of me leaving and the proprietors of BAPE letting more people in, I was able to get this hoodie at 50% off.

Once again persistence did pay off.

Sweet 16!

Y'all knew I had to bust out the championship gear at some point haha! As you might guess I picked up this shirt as well as the locker room hat over at the NBA Store this week.

I went with this one instead of the white one this year because well, I got that one in white last year! Plus, although this was $10 more this shirt is a lot softer than its counterpart making the fit that much better.

16-time World Champions! Back to Back! What makes this so sweet is that the Lakers finally beat the Celtics in a Game 7 in the Finals.

World Cup Fever!

I picked up this jersey over at Soccer World over in Farmingville about a week and a half before the World Cup started. God, that feels so long ago now.

Had to go away with the Away jersey just because the stripe across the front of the jersey stands out more than the Home jersey.

This means it's legit haha.

I swear this will never get old. Seeing it happen live at Legends with Chris, Jules, Mike and Sabrina, I'm not kidding when I say that has to be in my Top 10 All-Time Sports moments that I've experienced live (more on that at another time).

I happened to see this shirt on Freshness right before I left work and off to Niketown I went. What can I say? The combination of Nike, The Simpsons and the World Cup was too good to pass up.

I'm happy to say that I am happy with the quality of the shirt. It's made the same way my glow in the dark "Pac Man Knows" shirt I got a while back. Although it isn't Dri Fit it feels just as nice and the fit is the way I like it. Meaning snug but not too snug haha.

Pretty ironic that I got this shirt today since Portugal laid the smack down on North Korea to the tune of 7-0!

Rogues Gallery for J. Crew

I picked this shirt up a few weeks ago, during one of my impromptu trips to at my go to mall (Smith Haven) over in Lake Grove.

What drew me to this shirt was the fact that it was on sale as well as the fact that it's from J. Crew's collaboration with the New England brand Rogues Gallery.

I've been a fan of theirs for some time now because I dig their old school nautical theme. As you can see they have more items besides T-shirts.

The way "Cape Horn" is written as well as the graphic of the ship gives off this Moby Dick type of vibe which I dig.

And like I said, it was on sale.

It's been a long month

I know I haven't posted in quite some time and to be honest there have been things going on in my life that unfortunately have put blogging on the back burner. One of the main things is losing my beloved dog Pogie.

When they say dogs are "man's best friend," Pogie was the living embodiment of that. He was 13 years old and shortly after his birthday he just didn't seem himself. Before we knew it he wasn't eating or drinking water and by the time we took him to the vet, we pretty much knew that something was wrong.

We had to say goodbye to him a little over a month ago and it's only now that I'm starting to feel somewhat normal.

Add to that my father's ongoing medical issues stemming from his diabetes, you can see why I've been distracted.

The Recession Strikes Again

As luck would have it, I wound up at the Smith Haven Mall out by me and stopped by Ruehl. For those of you who aren't familiar with this particular clothing line, they're basically Abercrombie & Fitch but instead of a moose they have a French Bulldog as their mascot. Needless to say that last tidbit endeared them to me and my sister greatly.

I knew they were closing for some time now but I had no idea that they were closing for good today. 50% off what was left in the store didn't leave a lot to pick over but fortunately I was able to get these shirts.

This shirt is a size large and fits snug like all Abercrombie-like shirts and both shirts are incredibly soft.

I love the Jackson Pollock-esque profile illustration of this Frenchie. Can you blame me? Haha.

This shirt, believe it or not, is actually a XXL and yet fits me just fine. Couldn't go wrong with the colors (yeah yeah I know the Mets suck but still), and the little Frenchie sitting at the bottom of the shirt made it impossible to pass up.

According to the really cute sales girl that rang me up, their store at the Roosevelt Field Mall is closing the 23rd. Hmmm...

Happy New Year everyone! I apologize for my lack of posting lately. Rest assured I've been busy adding to my already burgeoning T-shirt collection. The best part is that I've been finding a lot of deals for them as well. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

In the meantime, here's yet another Star Wars T-shirt, this one purchased at Forbidden Planet, which is a place I seem to always walk out with a T-shirt from. Too bad they don't sell them on their Web site. On second thought that might be a bad thing haha.

The old school movie poster/comic book cover made it a must-have in my book. I was also pleased to see that the shirt itself is made of a comfortably stretch cotton that offers a great fit.

The cosmic look of the shirt also lends itself to this new year of 2010, which is another reason I went with it for this post.

Sunday Night Football

I know that this may come as a surprise to many of you but this past Sunday marked the very first time I've ever attended a regular season game at Giants Stadium. The reason for that is because having worked in sports television for the better part of the last 10 years, means that I work a lot on the weekend.

Thankfully there were 10 early games this week meaning that there were going to be only 3 late games that CBS would have to worry about. So, when I got the call from Rupert that Eddie had an extra ticket, my boss was hard pressed to let me go.

As you can see the seats we had were pretty awesome (shout out once again to Rupe and Eddie). Unfortunately, in addition to our inept Defense, turnovers and DeSean Jackson (God I hate that guy), my debut at the old stadium was ruined. Which was too bad since the game itself was wildly entertaining.

As awesome as it was to go to the game that night, that pales in comparison to the news I received earlier that morning when I was on my way to the city. So before I forget, I'd like to give a huge SHOUT OUT to Mike and Trish Alea as they welcomed baby Jacob into the world! You guys are truly blessed!

Prior to going to the game (since I didn't even know I was going to get to attend), I nabbed this awesome old school "New York Football Giants" T-shirt out at the Reebok Outlet in Riverhead (that place has been really good to me lately haha) for $15! The reason I was able to get it at that price because it was buy one get one free at the store so I convinced Rupert to get an old school Chargers (long story) T-shirt. The shirt is soft and fits great, nice and snug just how I like them LOL.

I saw my shirt on the Giants Web site a while back but it's not there now. I did see it here on Amazon if any of you were interested.

In Da Face!

As most of you already know, I got the name for this blog from the name of the barber shop from the movie "Coming to America." The only difference is that in the film, the sign outside the shop reads "My-T-Sharp."

Anyway, a few months ago I came across this T-shirt at EastWest and thought that I should probably snag it for no other reason than for my blog's namesake.

However, I initially balked at the price since I've been so accustomed to getting T-shirts for around half that price.

But like the saying goes, "You snooze you lose," and sure enough by the time I came to my senses and wanted it, they sold out.

Thankfully, my sister happened to be at EastWest right after Black Friday and saw that they had the "Coming to America" T-shirt on sale and got it for me!

I should point out that the shirt is made my Undrcrwn, who are well known for their caricature T-shirts. Funny thing though, for some reason I don't see them selling this shirt on their site. Curious.

Oh well, the shirt fits great and couldn't be happier. Thanks Roz!

Victoria's Secret

Yeah I know, the big show was last night so these pictures are late but felt I still needed to post them.

I took these pictures when the ladies were outside of my office promoting the show. I think this was a week before Thanksgiving when this photo op went down.

Needless to say I was a little bit late for work that day.

This first pic is of the lovely Miranda Kerr (she's right in the middle, next to the lucky bastard that should've been me).

This pic is of Jamie Lee, one of the finalists for this contest that VS had as part of the show. Too bad she lost to this other hot chick named Kylie.

I'm so pissed that this shot came out so blurry, but I didn't anticipate getting so close to my favorite VS Angel of them all, Doutzen Kroes! Even blurred out she's gorgeous, and being so close to her, can you blame me for my hand shaking? Sigh.

Just when I thought my luck couldn't get any better, this past Sunday also marked another encounter with a Victoria's Secret model. This time it happened on the set of the NFL Today (where I still freelance) and well...

Her name is Candice Swanepoel and I think its safe to say you'll be seeing this young lady in a few VS commercials and catalogues for the next few years.

When I tell you she's just as HOT in person as she looks on TV, take my word for it. The funny thing was I totally forgot she was going to be on the show until I got into the city that morning! Now you know why I still bother working at that place haha.

White Collar

Ok, just to mix it up a bit and to prove that I'm not completely obsessed with T-shirts, last month I mentioned to a few of you that I went to this awesome giveaway at Rockefeller Center!

Basically it involved USA Network's new show "White Collar" and to help promote it, they teamed up with noted shirt maker Thomas Pink.

Here was the deal: They were going to give out 1,000 mens and 1,000 women's shirts for anyone who showed up to their setup at Rockefeller Center, for FREE. And on top of that they were offering FREE tailoring and would ship the shirt to your house for FREE.

Needless to say, I was there, proving once again that the early bird does get the worm haha (I wound up being the fourth person in line). Fortunately for me it was absolutely gorgeous out that day (the following day the temperature dropped about twenty degrees).

I was really impressed with the whole execution and promotion of this event. Free coffee, free shoe shining, all of the spokespeople were knowledgeable about the show as well as the shirts that were being offered. They were all sharply dressed and had good energy (then again I was there right at the beginning, not sure how energetic they were at the end of the day). Having worked on my shares of promotions I can appreciate a well run event.

I was only in line for about a half hour or so before it was my turn to pick a shirt (you had your choice of 3 different types of shirts - incidentally they were all white). Once you picked your shirt they took your neck, sleeve and chest measurements and that was pretty much it.

I opted for this rather dressy shirt and approximately 2 weeks later...

The best things in life are free afterall haha.

Took this photo of the MAN himself, which can be found on the 5th floor of Niketown here in NY.

I was there hunting for more Manny shirts, still high off of his epic win over Miguel Cotto on Saturday.

Added the following shirts to my ever expanding Manny collection.
I got this one at Champs Sports in Times Square the day before the fight.
I like the fact that it says "Philippines" written on the back, right below the neckline.

I got this one at that same location the following Monday. This is probably my favorite one because this has so much going on with it.

I mean come on. Does this shirt say it all or what? HAHA

Sorry to say I haven't been able to find this shirt online anywhere so if you guys are feeling it as much as I am, I'll keep you posted once I can find a link.

Better Late Than Never?

Yeah I know I'm way too late with this. But in case you didn't know what I was for Halloween this year here you go.

As you can see my inspiration for my costume was taken directly from one of my favorite shows on television: 30 Rock.

And if you haven't heard of 30 Rock, shame on you, because this is what I was going for.

I made the hat with 1" felt adhesive letters that I purchased at Michaels and put them on a trucker hat I bought on Broadway in SoHo. Shout out to my buddy Terrence for suggesting I go with "Public Option."

I bought the wig at the Ricky's in the Manhattan Mall and the glasses I found in the Hot Topic over in Smith Haven Mall.

Overall I was really pleased with how the costume came out, and was pleased by the overall reactions I got walking around the city.

I just wish I had a chance to wear it around when it actually was Halloween but unfortunately, at literally the last minute, I had to take my mom to her friend's 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Oh well, there's always next year.

Slacking

I know I've been neglecting this blog but it's just been a busy couple of weeks. Not that it's any excuse but I've just been laying low ever since this whole "Worst Case Scenario" World Series became I reality. Plus, I think I've gotten a little too involved with Tweeting as well, which I think has taken away from my blogging.

But rest assured I'm still committed to this thing and so I'll try and do a better job at posting regularly.

I picked this T-shirt up at Urban Outfitters on the Upper West Side right after I saw the movie. I can't say enough about Spike Jonze and the job that he did. It was everything I was hoping it would be if not more. Hopefully, you guys will check it out and see for yourself.

Doutzen = Great Cause

I love it when I can combine two things that I really love in life: Naked Super Models, and T-shirts with a single purchase.

Especially when that super model is the lovely Doutzen Kroes, and the designer responsible for this shirt is Marc Jacobs...

When you add those two factors together, I couldn't get myself downtown fast enough to the Marc Jacobs Accessories store (located down the block from the Magnolia Bakery) in the West Village. Little did I know that the store is really small and that there would be a line to get in. Ugh.

Needless to say, it was worth the wait.
And in case you were wondering, the front of the shirt says, "Protect the Skin You're In."

All kidding aside though, as appealing as this T-shirt was to begin with, when I learned that all proceeds from the sale of this T-shirt will be donated to the NYU Cancer Institute @ NYU Langone Medical Center, it was a no brainer.

As you can see, on the back is a list of all the other famous models/celebrities that Marc Jacobs was able to get to participate in this effort. Naomi Campbell, Lily Donaldson, Eve Mendes, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham just to name a few.

I think this T-shirt from Retro Sports is pretty self-explanatory, much like most of my T-shirts.

No real rhyme or reason I decided to use this one at this time other than the fact that last two guys (Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford) that won it are still recovering from injury but might actually play this week.

Here's a little known fact about the Heisman Trophy: NYU alum (my alma mater in case you didn't know) Ed Smith was the model for the trophy! It's true, you can look it up here.

Met up with some folks for some burgers after work, at Stand 4 down by NYU. Shake Shack would've been better but at least we were indoors.

Who is that masked man? That's birthday boy Mike Sala, making his MyTeeSharp debut! And while we all "know" Manny Pacquiao is da man, this t-shirt that I nabbed at Niketown earlier in the week, allows everyone know what's what.

U2 360 Tour Part 1

I picked up this T-shirt at the U2 concert last week at Giants Stadium.

Sure, I could've purchased it on the band's official Web site and saved myself a few bucks.

But that's the best part about going to concerts...is getting the "concert" shirt from that one show. It's like an artifact that you can wear from that moment of time. At least that's how I feel.

This was the first time I had seen them in concert in approximately 13 years. As luck would have it, the last time I saw them live was at Giants Stadium. And there I was seeing U2 perform their last time at Giants Stadium.

So before I go any further, I'd like to thank my buddy Rupert for hooking me up big time!

We were in the General Admission section which meant we didn't have a seat per se.

But as you can see, given the enormity of the stage, this really was the place to be.

This is one of my favorite moments of the concert. The stage was flooded in green to pay homage to the Green Revolution that took place in Iran a few months ago as U2 played "Sunday Bloody Sunday."

Since it was such a long time since the last time I saw them perform live, I was psyched that they played a good amount of their "vintage" songs.

Kid Robot

As some of you might already know, I'm an absolute sucker for a good sample sale. Especially when the sale is by a brand that I really like. So when Kid Robot had their sale last week.... this is what I got haha.

I got this shirt to match a bag that I got at an earlier KR sale (yeah I know, I need help). This isn't the same bag but you get the picture.

Overall the sale was good but I waited in long a lot longer than I intended but what are you gonna do? When the shirts are $15 (normally $40-50) and the hoodies are $25 (originally $135-150) long waits come with the territory.

Did I say hoodie? Haha, in addition to the shirts I got a KR hoodie (couldn't resist) as well but decided to not post a picture of that since Lord knows, I have almost as many hoodies as t-shirts at this point. Maybe when I start my hoodie blog I'll put it there.

Yeah I know I'm a week late with this, but better late than never I always say. Congrats #23 on one of the most foregone conclusions in Hall of Fame History.

Some shirts just say it all. I got this one at the Nike Outlet out at the Tanger Outlet in Riverhead.

Couldn't do a post about His Airness without including this t-shirt I got on Karmaloop.

If you recall, this photo was from the Sports Illustrated cover that heralded in the Dream Team way back in the Summer of '92.

The reason I had to include this t-shirt in this post is because now that I look back at it, everyone is all smiles. However, when you think about it, Jordan pretty much tormented each of these guys (yeah even my man Magic). In particular, Barkley, Ewing, and The Mailman.

#85 Forever

This week the Giants cut David Tyree, he of the most amazing catch in the history of the Super Bowl. It's because of him that I have this T-shirt today. Not to mention the sweatshirt, and hat that goes with it.

And yeah, when I read that he was let go bummed me out. I know, I know, that's just me being sentimental again. The truth is that the NFL is a business and so that's how things go some times.

It's too bad that Tyree wasn't able to stay healthy after that magical day in the desert against the Patriots. Non-Giants fans will dismiss what David Tyree did in Super Bowl XLII as a fluke, since he didn't catch another ball for the Big Blue.

But for those of us that bleed blue, David Tyree will never be a fluke or a footnote in Super Bowl history. He'll live forever in Giants history and serve as a reminder that on any given Sunday, anything is possible. And I'll always be grateful for that.

I swear, this never gets old.

Let's Make A Deal!

First things first, my bad for slacking on the posts. It was a busy week last week for me:

CBS Fantasy Football Draft, Who Wants to be a Millionaire (work function) 10th anniversary "party", and saying Sayonnara to my college buddy Eugene who was heading back to Japan.

With that being said, I had to bust out this Lakers T-shirt to commemorate the deal that will allow me to see the reigning World Champions when they come to the Garden on January 22nd. And all it cost me was my OKC and Sacramento tickets! Thanks Chris!

Meet Me in Montauk

I got the idea for this post when my friend Mark Sala mentioned to me that he recently visited Montauk with his girlfriend.

That got me thinking about on of my favorite movies of all-time, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," from one of my favorite directors (Michel Gondry).

I liked it so much that I wound up going to neighborhoodies, when they still had their store down at South Street Seaport, and had this T-Shirt made up. I chose the color scheme because that was the color of Clementine's (the talented Kate Winslet) hair in the movie.

What I loved most about this movie and this line in particular, is that not only does it take place on Long Island, but that the line comes at the "end" (coincidentally Montauk's nickname is "The End) of the film. But in actuality, it actually triggers the "beginning" of the film.

I had trouble finding the actual scene from the movie, when Clementine tells Joel (Jim Carrey) to meet her in Montauk, on YouTube so this will have to suffice.

Health Care Reform

I'm not sure if you've heard, but President Obama has been receiving quite a bit of "feedback" over his plans to reform Health Care here in the U.S. And while I realize that this issue isn't going to be the slam dunk for Obama he was hoping for, I think he's sincere about what he's trying to accomplish so let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt, OK?

Speaking of slam dunks, after seeing Obama trying to get the word out and set the record straight about what he is trying to accomplish with his Health Care plan, I thought this T-shirt would be really appropriate for this post. This shirt was made by the clothing brand Undrcrwn and bought it at my local T-shirt spot EastWest after the 2008 presidential election when Obama beat John McCain.

Those were the dying words of Johnny Cade (played by the immortal Ralph Macchio) to Ponyboy Curtis (played by C. Thomas Howell). Words to live by, from one of the best movies of all-time (The Outsiders).

I got this T-shirt at Save Fashion, which was this pop-up sale that was held at Port Authority a while back. It was made by the brand Sophomore and being the movie fan that I am, it was a no-brainer.

Speaking of no-brainers, I couldn't bring up "The Outsiders" without adding this iconic photo that was later used on the movie poster.

The great thing about this photo, is the story behind it. I read in an a GQ article about the 20th anniversary of the movie, that while the photo is being taken, Ralph Macchio yells at Leif Garrett (who was partaking in the spread that was provided at the photo shoot), that the food was for "actors only." And that's why the guys are all cracking up. Such a classic photo.

Jeez another one bites the dust. It's not the fact that there has been a rash of celebrity deaths this Summer but what I find most disturbing is that the "significant" deaths have been so numerous.

I got this Kid Robot KidPunk Splattered T-shirt a little over a week ago for free because they screwed up an earlier order I had and rather than give me my money back they said I could have any T-shirt I wanted. So I went with this one.

I decided to use this T-shirt for this post because it reminded me of the John Hughes movie "Pretty In Pink." And although it wasn't one of my favorite films of his, it was still a quality flick. What can I say? I've always felt there was a little "Duckie" in me growing up.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, the aforementioned PIP, Some Kind of Wonderful, Uncle Buck, Home Alone the list goes on and on. John Hughes you will be missed sorely missed by my generation. Fortunately you left behind a wealth of movie history for other generations to enjoy.

After watching the Mets' BRUTAL 12-7 loss to the Cardinals the night before to extend my ungodly losing streak to 0-6 @ Citi Field, I figured I'd wear this shirt because I felt the season was pretty much over at that point.

In case you were wondering, the quote on the bottom of this Rogan shirt says, "An Eye for an Eye Leaves the Whole World Blind." Once again Gandhi breaks it down.

So of course, the Mets go out and win today 9-0. Oh and btw they happened to lose John Niese for the season with a torn hamstring in the 2nd inning and Sheffield had to leave the game with tightness in his...you guessed it hamstring.

Ok so the Mets didn't sweep the Rockies, but it's just like Meatloaf said, "don't be mad, cuz 3 out of 4 ain't bad." Ok, maybe I made that up but that doesn't change how the team has started to play. I'm not delusional, but it's just nice to see that the Mets actually look like a major league baseball team again.

How long this will last? Who knows, in the mean time I'm just going to take the rest of the season one series at a time.

I picked up this "Happy Endings" T-shirt at the Abercrombie & Fitch in the Mall (Smith Haven). What can I say? A little sexual innuendo conveyed via a T-shirt never hurt anyone, right?

I was sad to hear that Union is no more. After 20 years, this renowned streetwear shop closed its doors recently. I guess I should've seen it coming when I was there a few weeks ago and almost everything was 50% off.

This should've been the weekend when the world found out whether or not my boy Manny Pacquiao was finally going to be able to "get it on" with good old "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather.

Alas, after Floyd hurt himself training for his warm-up bout with Juan Manuel Marquez, that dream had to be put on hold.

I watched most of the 2009 Espys tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see that Manny was nominated for Best Play when he knocked Ricky Hatton the F*ck OUT! And although he lost to the Steelers (Big Ben/Santonio Holmes last second catch in the Super Bowl), it was still great seeing him get his props.

I picked up this classic Manny T-shirt at a Mighty Healthy/Acapulco Sample sale last December, after Manny took apart the Golden Boy to lay claim to the title of best of the best...pound for pound!

30 Rock-ed the Emmy Nominations

Once again the American League beat the National League in the All-Star game. This is getting ridiculous.

Anyway, when I heard that Lenny Dykstra filed for Chapter 11 last week, I remembered that I had this shirt. My sister got it for me for Christmas and was I waiting for the right time to wear it. Seeing how bad the Mets season has been, I thought the news about "Nails" was only fitting.

Think about it. Dykstra was a key player on the '86 Mets and would eventually become somewhat of an expert at the stock market. Now fast forward a little more than 20 years later and now the Mets, whose new ballpark (CitiField) is named for a bank that needed Federal bailout money. I think you see where I'm going with this.

BTW did I mention that the Mets are 6.5 games behind the friggin Phillies?!

I was watching "The Shot Heard 'Round the World" on HBO this evening and I figured it was time to bust out this classic Willie Mays T-shirt. Yeah I know it wasn't the same game but still. This Upper Playground shirt was too cool to pass up when I saw it at EastWest.

I happened to wear my Lakers Parade T-shirt today to try and take my mind off the pathetic state of the Mets. And as the season is shaping up, it's a good thing the Lakers winning the title gave me an excuse to add to my collection of Laker gear (courtesy of the NBA Store).

As it so happened the home arena for my favorite NBA team (the Staples Center) was the site for Michael Jackson's memorial service.It was cool to see Magic and Kobe there to pay their respects.

Nah nah it's just me. I threw this vintage Batman T-shirt on as I was scurrying to make my train this morning.

For some people vintage = why would you want to wear something that someone just got rid of?

For me I always liked vintage for its old school quality, especially as it pertains to T-shirts. In this case I was drawn to the vintage Batman logo, which quite frankly, you don't see too often.

With the Mets season in shambles (started the weekend just 1 game out of first) after being swept by the hated Phillies this weekend, it's a good thing I started going to the gym again.

Wore this Brooklyn Industries shirt to good old Sunrise Fitness while I hit the weights. The #12 on the back of the shirt was the clincher (reason: day of my birth).

With all this pent up frustration I had to make sure I didn't overdo it today. With the first place Dodgers coming into town, the All-Star Break can't get hear soon enough.

This ad campaign by Nike was truly inspired. And although Kobe and LeBron didn't face off in the NBA Finals, those commercials were priceless. Who doesn't love puppets?

Needless to say once I saw this shirt I needed it for my collection. So much so that even when it sold out at Niketown I didn't let that deter me. I bided my time (not to mention harassed Niketown employees) until I found out when they re-stocked this shirt.

I must say, it fits pretty good too. Still not sure why Kobe is wearing a fedora but somehow it works.

Revenge of the Fallen

I saw the new Transformers movie yesterday with Jake, Melissa and Terrence last night. Basically it's pretty bad but at the same time it was kinda entertaining. And without giving too much away, anytime you have Megan Fox running in slow motion, that's ALWAYS a good thing.

I dug this shirt out while I was actually looking for this other "Autobot" shirt I had, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this Optimus Prime/Megatron one. Both shirts btw I picked up at Forbidden Planet by Union Square. They happen to have a great t-shirt selection there so check it out.

One last thing about ROF, I was surprised about the overt sexual references as well as the amount of foul language. And I could've done without the random/completely unnecessary stereotypical nonsense that went on in the film as well.

So I guess what I'm saying is, if you were planning on taking young children to this film, I'd reconsider. But hey, that's just me.

2-0 over Spain?! This has to be the most excited I've felt after a win for U.S. Soccer since the amazing run in the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan! I was going nuts at work! After the game I ran around Times Square a few times basking in the late afternoon mist.

I picked up this USA jersey over at Soccer World in Farmingville right before the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Brazil or South Africa is next up in the FIFA Confederations Final. Dare to dream.

Once Upon A Time....

I was in a hurry this morning and so I threw on the first shirt I saw (this seems to happen a lot). It's by this London brand Lola and I think I picked it up at this place called "World" down in the LES.

Back in the day Princess Diana and Prince Charles getting together was, in the immortal words of Ron Burgundy: "kind of a big deal." Everyone thought those two were gonna make it. It was story book wedding and had all the makings of a latter day Camelot. I think that's what drew me to this shirt. The front page picture giving this moment of time the sense of nostalgia that I remember when I saw footage of the wedding on the news.

It just goes to show that even if your royalty, marriage is still a crap shoot.

Not to leave you on a morbid note but on the bottom of the shirt it says, "May You Live Forever and Die Happy." - Lola, London. In the end I guess that's all we can all hope for.

I think I'll wait to get the new iPhone 3G S but as this t-shirt shows, I have fallen victim to Apple hype in the past.

So in honor of Apple's latest enveiling of the iPhone I give you this...

I actually stood in line for over 4 hours to get this shirt at the opening of the Apple Store in the Meatpacking District. I was under the impression that I might actually get one of the Mac Books, iPods and, iMacs that were supposedly being given away at random.

(Back of shirt) Was it really almost 2 years ago?

Needless to say, all I got was the shirt, some poster and a $15 iTunes card.

Go figure, on the 15th anniversary of the Rangers winning their only Stanley Cup in my lifetime (so far)...

(Was it really that long ago? Got this t-shirt while working at Cosby's on during that magical Spring of '94. I have to admit, the design of this shirt still holds up after all these years.)

The Lakers would win their 15th NBA World Championship! Congratulations fellas and especially to Phil Jackson for winning your record 10th title (so long Red haha).

This was the shirt that was given to us (IFA) after we won intramurals for the very first time.

I can't believe it's been 7 years now since my good friend Tony Regina passed away. I thought it might be appropriate to bring out this t-shirt from the archives in his memory.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into getting this shirt. And I know how much it meant to each of us when we beat those punks from the law school....especially Tony.

This is what happened when I tried to take a picture with my iPhone right-handed. The funny thing is, I can almost hear Tony say "you still can't go to your right." Haha.

For every guy that has ever been to a bachelor party in Vegas... this is your movie. Saw it last night with Terrence and Alfred and totally by chance put this shirt on. Made me want to get back to the black jack table at the Mirage.

As it turns out, there was a chicken in the movie. One of the many hysterical things about this buddy movie.

G-Force/Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets)

Back in the day when I was a wee lad visiting my relatives in the Philippines, my cousins introduced me to the world of Japanimation. First there was Voltez Five which was awesome in all its pre-Voltron glory. I also remember watching a this other series that featured these bird-like martial artists and that too captured my imagination. Too bad I forgot what it was called.

Years later back in the good old USA, this series was brought over here and they called it "G-Force."

So you can imagine how I felt when I saw that Uniqlo was selling this shirt as part of their recent Pop Culture campaign.
Turns out that series was called "Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets)" which apparently ran from 1972-1974.

"Dr. Nambu of the International Scientific Organization enlists five young people to form a team of galactic heroes trained in science and ninja arts. The team transforms into various bird-like figures like eagles and swans, and fight the might of the secret evil society Gallactor which plots to conquer the world."

Needless to say I had to add this shirt to the collection.

I'm going to have to apologize for the mugshot tonight. Usually they aren't this bad but believe it or not I had a bad headache during Game 1 of the Finals!

I simply had to have this shirt once I saw it at the old Nort/Recon shop down on Lafayette. Afterall, this starting four kickstarted the Showtime regime that made it easy for me to adopt them as my NBA team. Little did I know how much heartache I saved myself.

Some of you may have watched the MTV Movie Awards last night. And for those of you that did, you were treated to the new G.I. Joe movie coming out later this Summer.

For better or worse I've pretty much been waiting most of my life to see a live-action G.I. Joe movie and to see Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes throw down!

I got this bad ass t-shirt at Forbidden Planet down by Union Square, to appease my inner badass.

Once again dug into the "My-TEE-Sharp" archive to bring out another Laker shirt to commemorate the franchise's 30th trip to the NBA Finals.

The Nuggets were a worthy adversary, but now it's time to finish what they meant to do last season. Too bad the Celtics won't be there so the Lakers can exact their revenge. I'll settle on them finally getting Phil his 10th ring and finally bump Red Auerbach to second best.

Mad props go to my cousin Danny, who lives in L.A. and hooked me up big time back in the day. Notice it's made by Champion (love the Old School team issue template) and had to have it when I saw Shaq wearing it during an interview.

Fortunately, I didn't have to dig to deep into the archives for this T-shirt. Been meaning to wear it but since I haven't worn it since the playoffs started I didn't want to be too hasty. Thankfully Kobe didn't have to do it all tonight, thanks Lamar and Pau for showing up.

Anyways, I found this shirt at Urban Outfitters a while back and since I'm a sucker for old school logos I had to get it.
